Why is your ad account disabled by Facebook – how to prevent and recover ?
Is Facebook banning your ad account every now and then? If yes I know the pain. You can’t advertise anymore. You don’t get the sales.
Have you started your eCommerce journey with shopify or woocommerce and struggling to get sales? Then you have come to the right place.
So people question shopify or woocommerce which is better? Well both have its own merits and demerits. Woocommerce is opensource – a free platform, you just need to pay for domain and hosting. Hosting companies these days offer very good hosting at an affordable cost. Shopify has recurring monthly fees of 29$.
Woocommerce offers tons of free themes and free plugins so you get lot more customizations. On the other hand shopify is great if you want to start your online store right away. You can literally set up your store within few hours and start selling.
So the idea is same in both platforms. Now how do you improve your sales in your store? Let’s understand from very basic principles. Flipkart, Amazon, Wallmart, Myntra are well established eCommerce platforms. If you are a small business you can’t compete with them. You need to first accept this. But this doesn’t mean you can’t sell online. The point I am trying to make is you can’t live in a red ocean where lots of other giant competitors are swimming. Rather find a blue ocean where there are customers, but competition is almost nil or very less.
First thing first, identify a niche. This will give Google a signal that you are specialized on a particular market. Accordingly Google will send you traffic in long run. If we take the example of search engine, 99% people use Google as their favorite search platform. So rather creating a generic search platform people created practo – search engine for doctors, zomato – search engine for restaurants.
Make sure your product is unique, solves a customer’s problem and it is hard to find in large eCommerce markets like Amazon, Flipkart. Identify the battleground where to fight is half winning the battle. There are some free methods to find trending products for your niche. You can search Amazon auto suggest, Amazon best sellers, YouTube, Pinterest. Search on Facebook “50% OFF + Free Shipping” or “60% OFF + Shop Now”. These terms are widely used by shopify store owners in their video. Find a product which is running for at least one month and which has more than 1000 Likes. If that product is working for them hopefully it will work for you as well. You can get the inspiration and chose a related product. You can repeat this process with different dropshipping terms like “40% OFF Deals” or “Limited stock + FREE shipping for today” and you will find lots of products.
Make your product page appealing. Be informal, go creative with your product page. Make sure you keep the design synced with your brand colors and font. Your website should not look spammy. Write copies that inspire your possible customers to believe that your product can solve their problem. But never make any false claim. Customers are very smart these days. Once they land your store and place order they might visit other websites or forum to verify your claims. If they find you have misled them they wouldn’t think twice to cancel the order. In that case you will be in loss both in terms of money and reputation.
FOMO is fear of missing out. Write copies or use apps to tell your customers that your offer is for a limited time. Once they feel if they don’t buy now they will lose the opportunity they will click the “BUY NOW” button.
Write phrases like you have only 10 units left or the offer is valid for only next 12 hours. These lines do wonder.
These days customers check reviews first then check features of the product. Incentivize your customers, give them discount on next purchase and encourage them to leave a review. Reviews generate trust and trust brings you customers.
If your product has any warranty mention it in details. Write where and how a customer should contact in case of any issue. If your product has any instruction manual include it in a pictorial way or include a video in the product page.
Your contact details like phone number, email or physical address should be clearly mentioned in your website. It is required to showcase that you are a legit eCommerce business. If you don’t have these details in your website Facebook and Google won’t allow you to run ads as they think you are scamming people.
Once you created and optimized your shopify its time to get traffic to the store. You can do SEO to drive free traffic. But SEO takes time to kick in and give you results. To get some initials sales and get the momentum dive in to Facebook ads. I will show you how to scale your shopify store with Faecbook ads in a simple step by step manner.
Once you set up your store properly it’s time to run ads. I will discuss Facebook ad here. There are three major things for a successful ad campaign – the right audience, the right copy and the right creative.
Do your audience research properly. Start with simple targeting. If you are running resistance bands try with “Fitness”,“Resistance Band”,“Physical Exercise”. Make sure you give a broad interest to Facebook to optimize.
Copy is the text just above the image or video of your ad. Tell a story in the copy about how your product has helped your customers to overcome their problem. Create different variations of copies. Write how it is beneficial for you customers. Create some FOMO here. With my experience I have found long copies always perform better. Mention your offer in the copy. Your customer should feel he is getting great value for the money he is spending.
Your ad creative should be visually appealing. Remember every 5th post in your Facebook feed is an ad. Do you click every ad? Use creatives that stop your customers scrolling their Facebook feeds. Your first job is to make them click your ad and let them come to your store. Like in traditional marketing what marketing guys do. They let the customers come to visit your shop.
If your ad has less Click Through Rate (CTR) i.e. less people are clicking on your ads Facebook algorithm punishes you by increasing your ad cost (CPM). Always test with multiple ad creatives. For products like beauty, electronic gadgets, fashion accessories, apparels images do well. For fitness products, small appliances videos do wonder. Test with both and find out which is working for you.
Once you get these right start running Facebook ads with 3-5 adsets and variation of 2-3 creatives. In this phase you want to find the best performing adset and creative. Once you start your campaign closely monitor the performance of adsets. Which adset is doing good, which creative is working, the time of day you are getting sale, the audience is from which area, the ROAS, the CPM, and the CTR everything.
Be patient. Facebook ad takes two-three days to optimize its performance.
Based on the performance keep the best performing adsets and kill the rest. Duplicate the best performing adset and increase the budget up to 25%. Now create two or three new adsets with new interests. You want to further find a new profitable audience.
In the meantime create custom audiences of website visitors, customers who already bought and people who visited the product page but not purchased. These audiences will take up to three days to populate. Once they are ready you would create retargeting campaigns.
Implement these and let me know if you need any further help. Let me know if you need more in depth knowledge on Facebook ads. Whatever platform you are choosing shopify or woocommerce make sure you have an investment mindset. There will be time where you get huge sales, there will be some bad days as well. Always remember marketing is never a cost, it is an investment. Take decision based on the data.
Don’t forget to mention how much sale you made in the comment section.
